In Hamburg the shopping is second to none with the outdoor shopping plaza of The Spitalerstrasse leading you past big department stores to the ornate golden tower of the magnificent Town Hall (Rathaus) and to the Europa Passage indoor shopping mall. Perhaps visit the futuristic looking Heinrich Hertz Term - the tallest tower and the most iconic structure in Hamburg standing at 204 high with a restaurant and viewing platform. The vast Haupt Bahnhof (Main train station) is a sight to see. For the young and young at heart - Miniature Wunderland houses the largest model railway in the world at 1300 sqm; which includes an airport with aircraft taking off and landing and a port with cargo ships navigating islands.  There are also theatres, opera houses, boating on the Alster and at certain times of the year tall ships frequent the harbour. Visit the Fish Market, the Hamburg Dungeon and a whole host of museums with Hamburg being particularly well known for its maritime history and the supremely fascinating U-Boat Museum.

Or grab a summer week of fun and sun and head to the Iberian Peninsula. which visit the Atlantic coastlines of Spain and Portugal including trendy Lisbon - the capital of the country situated on the North bank of the River Tagus as it flows under the imposing Vasco Da Gama suspension bridge (the longest in Europe). Within walking distance of the cruise terminal is the area known as is Belem - with the largest number of heritage sites connected with Portuguese maritime history such as the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos from 1501, the Maritime Museum and the Museum of Archaeology. The Torre de Belem is another marvellous monument and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Cadiz stands on a peninsula jutting out into a bay and is almost entirely surrounded by water. The Phoencians founded Cadiz as a trading post in 1100 BC and it became a thriving Roman port. It sank into oblivion under the Moors but attained great prominence in the early 16th century as a launching point for the journey to the new world in America. Cadiz was also raided by Sir Francis Drake and managed to withstand a siege by Napoleon's army. Cadiz is situated just 99km away from Seville which is the epicentre of Moorish architecture and history. With UNESCO classing a complex of three buildings in Seville as a World Heritage Site - namely the Cathedral, Alcazar Palace, and Archive of the Indies -  it's no wonder that cruisers flock to Seville from Cadiz.

La Rochelle is a coastal city in southwestern France and capital of the Charente-Maritime department. It's been a centre for fishing and trade since the 12th century, a maritime tradition that's reflected in its Vieux Port (old harbour) and huge, modern Les Minimes marina. The old town has half-timbered medieval houses and Renaissance architecture, including passageways covered by 17th-century arches.

Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas launched in May 2007 and is the final ship in the trio Freedom class of ship.
