Ocean Drive, Caribbean
Allure & Key West Road Trip
13 Nights.
Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas
Do something different
for a sunshine break in Florida avoiding the obvious and head to Ocean Drive in
Miami Beach for cool party vibes and beach life. Be wowed and enhance the tan
on one of the biggest cruise ships afloat - island hopping across the Caribbean.
Then hop into a convertible hire car for a wonderful drive down through the
Florida Keys to Key West to ramp up the beach and party vibes with Caribbean
sunsets. This is a magical beach holiday which blends a city, beach and
Caribbean cruising experience into a memorable upmarket travel adventure.
Rub shoulders with the
tanned and toned in Miami South Beach in the heart of the Art-Deco neon lit
area where the main beach drag is Ocean Drive lined with bars, restaurants and
al-fresco diners. Perhaps have dinner in the Versace mansion, go shopping in
one of the huge shopping malls of Miami or simply relax on the beach. We have
scheduled your arrival for a Thursday to include Saturday night to take
advantage of the best part and nights of the week when the nightlife really
takes off.
Then it’s time to totally relax on a Royal Caribbean cruise island-hopping across three islands. Head
to the capital of the Bahamas- Nassau for a taste of island life and wonderful
adventures ranging from lying on the beach, the thrills of the Atlantis Water Park
or even swimming with pigs. Then head to the beaches of Costa Maya and the Mayan ruins
on the Yucatan Peninsula. Perhaps explore the Xel Ha aquatic park with its subterranean rivers, natural
pools and sacred Mayan Lagoon on Cozumel.
The drive from Miami
to Key West is quite simply magical. Once you hit the tip of southern Florida
its a 100-mile drive across bridges and islands with turquoise waters
stretching as far as the eye can see. You will pass through Key Largo,
Tavernier, Islamorada, Marathon and Big Pine Key lined with beach resorts,
marinas and interesting shops and tourist attractions. So pull the top down,
splash on the suntan lotion, ramp up the radio and enjoy.
Key West can be best
described as Cape Cod meets the Caribbean combining the best bits of both for
its own unique blend of tropical relaxation & enjoyment. A visit to Key
West will easily surpass those in other more popular parts of Florida in terms of
nightlife, shopping, dining and natural sights such as Sunset Plaza and the
bustling marina with its rustic wooden boardwalk and pier posts topped by
pelicans waiting for a lazy fish!

This is the second of the famed Oasis class of six ships which heralded the era of mega ships in excess of 200,000 tonnes. Allure of the Seas was launched in 2010 and has just undergone an extensive $100 million refit which was completed in April 2025. This ship carries 5,400 passengers over 18 decks and 225,282 tonnes and 1187 feet in length. Another ship that wows at every turn and when boarding you get the sense you have entered a resort rather than a floating cruise ship. This ship is vast and defined by several neighborhoods such as the Boardwalk, Central Park, Entertainment Place and the Royal Promenade.
The Royal Promenade is an indoor avenue several decks high which runs through the centre of the ship. It is lined with shops, bars and cafes and marks the central point of the ship. Hop on the Rising Tide Bar which is a bar that literally moves up and down through several decks to reach Central Park. Grab a pizza art Sorrentos, have a coffee at the Café Promenade, dance to the Latin beat at Boleros and watch out for the famed street parties. While the Bow and stern is traditional looking English Pub for that all important pint.
The adult’s only solarium at the front and top of the ship is one of the best in the fleet, there are also four swimming pools including the new family orientated Splashaway Bay. This ship has an Ice rink, escape room, two flow rider simulators, a zip wire adventure and much much more. Try out the new ultimate Abyss dual dry slides at 10 storeys high, have a race on the perfect Storm dual racing water slides or plunge through the Supercell Champagne Bowl.
